He is a racist cold blooded killer who killed a man in the house of the Lord. Those glasses at the scene could have been anybody's and he could have worn them as a disguise. That does not trump his confession. I hope he burns in the fiery pits of Hell.

It is my understanding Dennis Perry did not confess, only told investigators he thought the whole thing sounded like a murder gone wrong, and even with that, investigators were coercing him to confess stating he would "fry" for this. When you are a poor man with no access to legal assistance other than the free public defenders, this can be quite intimidating. African Americans should be sympathetic to this, as they have suffered at the hands of oppressive law enforcement for years without the hope of fair legal representation. Also, how can the original comment poster ignore the trove of contradictory evidence presented, namely that the DNA evidence showed the hairs on the glasses were not his, and that the glasses were for a farsighted person, and Perry had 20/20 vision when tested for the investigation. Also, why were the eyewitnesses NOT in agreement about the description of the assailant? One said he had a mustache, and three others said he did not. They even disagreed about whether or not he wore glasses. Where is the evidence that was lost? Why did the sheriff allow producers at Unsolved Mysteries to have the actual glasses and never return them? It sounds as if the whole ordeal was a rush to judgement and Dennis Perry got locked up for killed two people he never killed. Also, look at the composite drawing. It looks NOTHING like Perry. It did resemble Donnie Barrentine, however. Why was a warrant issued for his arrest by the GBI agents and county investigators but not approved by the district attorney at the time? I think Barrentine was the killer, and I think he was connected with someone who knew Swain's son-in-law, who was a druggie himself.
